Statistics like these are great, for business leaders and thinkers who are tasked with making digital strategic decisions for the organization.  The common questions of; “What do we do first, iPhone or BlackBerry?” or “Do we create an app for android phones?”can easily be answered with the appropriate data.  And although my response to questions such as the above would be “you need to do them all”,  I do understand that with financial and other business performance pressures, doing them all in ‘one fell swoop’ may not be realistic, and in such a case, intelligently prioritizing your app. development becomes key.  Take a look at mobile and smart phone adoption rates in your desired geographies, and also take a look at your current user profile and your desired user profile and go in the direction that gives you the greatest gain.
